Baggage Delivery Services
If you have a lot of gear and don’t fancy lugging it on trains, buses and taxis, often during peak hour, then you should seriously consider using Japan’s Takkyubin luggage delivery service.
The Takkyubin service is a very reliable, handy baggage delivery service that will deliver from airport to hotel, hotel to hotel, hotel to airport etc anywhere in Japan. It’s a great option if you’re travelling within Japan before or after your time on the snow, particularly if you are spending a couple of days in Tokyo before or after your time in Hakuba.
Japanese people and western expats based in Japan routinely use the Takkyubin service. A moderate bag will cost around $25 to send. Allow two days for your snow gear, although it will usually take less time. The most popular service is Yamato transport, which is often referred to as “Kuro Neko” (Black Cat), because the logo has a yellow background with black cats on it.
It’s simpler if you have the destination address written in Japanese. We can provide the Hakuba Luna Hotel address in Japanese for you. This will make the process much quicker as the clerk will be filling out the delivery note in Japanese.
