Restaurant Guide – Local Wadano restaurants

Hakuba has a wide selection of great restaurants, many of which are located in the Wadano Forest area, often on the same road as Hakuba Luna. All of the restaurants listed below are within easy walking distance of Hakuba Luna.

Windy KobeyaWindy Kobeya

Located less than 50m from Hakuba Luna, Kobeya is a Japanese BBQ restaurant where you can enjoy world-renowned wagyu (Japanese marbled beef). In addition to their excellent beef selection, Kobeya also offers a variety of Japanese dishes and a full drink menu. Choose from traditional Japanese floor seating or western table seating. Very friendly staff.

Eclipse RestaurantEclipse Restaurant

Eat in at our very own Italian restaurant, Eclipse. Enjoy a great selection of Italian dishes, including chicken parmigiana, pizzas, pastas, fresh salads desserts and daily specials accompanied by good wines, beers, cocktails and coffee. Family friendly with kids menu.

MimasakateiMimasakatei

Mimasakatei is a quaint little Japanese Izakaya in a small log cabin down the road from Hakuba Luna, near “The Pub”. The Japanese couple who own Mimasakatei provide exceptionally friendly service. It has a mixed Japanese menu at very reasonable prices. Definitely one of our favourites!

HummingbirdHummingbird

Hummingbird is also just down the road from Hakuba Luna. It offers Japanese and Western home-style cuisine made with the freshest seasonal ingredients. Hummingbird provides a warm, welcoming environment. The menu includes several vegetarian options, as well as a wide selection of sake, shochu and cocktails.

La Neige Higashi-kanLa Neige Higashi-kan

The French restaurant in the 5 Star La Niege Higashi-kan hotel down the road from Hakuba Luna is an upmarket venue that offers fine meals, accompanied by a selection of over 200 French and Japanese wines and an extensive cheese selection. Fine dining.

Sari-SariSari-Sari

“Sari-Sari” means “variety” in Tagalog. Sari-Sari welcomes guests with a variety of Asian dishes. It is home of the “all you can eat crab” on Sunday and Monday nights. The nasi goreng Indonesian style fried rice is a customer favourite.

SharaShara

Shara is a Japanese restaurant inside the Mominoki hotel complex. Shara serves dishes such as sushi, sukiyaki and shabushabu hot pots. The chef uses the freshest seafood from the nearby Japan Sea. Shara also offers a wide variety of Japanese Sake and Shochu spirits.

LinneaLinnea

Linnea is a northern European style restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, located in the Mominoki hotel complex. The buffet style service is very popular for with both Japanese and international guests. Also enjoy Nagano’s

The PubThe Pub

Hakuba’s only English pub. Treat yourself to a hearty meal with a Guinness after a full day on the snow. The classic European building that forms part of the Mominoki complex has a pool table and darts on the open second floor. Entertainment at ‘The Pub’ includes live bands and DJ events. Set in a beautiful English styled building.

Izakaya KazIzakaya Kaz

Izakaya Kaz is a stylish Japanese tapas dining bar located in the Mominoki Pub building. It has a wide range of traditional Izakaya and teppanyaki menu items, a hot pot menu, sushi and sashimi selections as well as local sake and beer.

Ogino's SteakhouseOgino’s Steakhouse

Ogino’s Steakhouse has the biggest range of quality steaks including the highest quality beef, ribs, chops, Australian angus and wagyu steaks. Wagyu is the ultimate masterpiece of Japanese beef and is normally highly marbled and full flavoured with relatively low levels of cholesterol. Ogino’s also serves fresh fish and offers vegetarian friendly food. Enjoy before or after dinner drinks in the adjacent bar area.

ChamonixChamonix

Chamonix is an upmarket restaurant in the Tokyu hotel serving traditional French styles of cooking with special Japanese touches. It prides itself on its original cuisine.

ManyouManyou

Manyou is an upmarket Japanese restaurant located in the Tokyu hotel. It prides itself on serving fine seasonal Japanese cuisine drawing on Japan’s proud heritage.

Nonna’sNonna’s

Located in the Highmount Hotel, up the road from Hakuba Luna, Nonna’s offers Japanese and Italian dishes and is priced in the mid-price bracket.

YamazakiYamazaki

Yamazaki is a Japanese Kaiseki style restaurant located in the Hotel de L’Aile, just down the road from Hakuba Luna. Kaiseki is a type of dining where many Japanese dishes are brought to you separately. Yamazaki also offers a shabu shabu hot pot cooked at your table.
